The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) organised a reception programme for the newly registered members of the institute at ICSB premises on Saturday.
Thirty-six qualified members who became Associate Members were accorded a warm reception by the institute, said a press release on Sunday.
The reception programme began with an introductory speech on ICSB and its brief history and importance of Chartered Secretaries in the private sector by Md Zakir Hossain, secretary and chief executive officer of ICSB.
Oli Kamal FCS, chairman of the Membership and Registration Committee delivered a welcome address. He said that newly registered members’ knowledge, skill and integrity will be tested not only in the examination halls but also in the highly competitive and challenging work environment.
On behalf of the newly registered members, two associate members- GM Rashed ACS and Md Lipon Hossain ACS expressed their deepest gratitude and thanks to the teachers, senior members and officials of ICSB.
They said that without their support it would have been difficult for them to become Chartered Secretaries. They also mentioned that learning from ICSB would surely add value to their career.
M Nurul Alam FCS, senior vice president of ICSB and member of the Membership and Registration Committee delivered an informative presentation for the new members on Professional Ethics and Etiquette.
In his presentation, he discussed about the professional code of conduct of ICSB, ethical principles for CS, professional duties of chartered secretaries and corporate etiquette.
Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS, president of the institute said that this is a special day for newly registered members.
On this occasion, he expressed his deepest appreciation to the newly registered members for attending the programme. He also said that it is the beginning of a new phase, where learning increases in intensity, depth and scope. He urged the newly registered members to be the brand ambassador of this profession.
In the end, Abul Fazal Mohamed Rubayat FCS, chairman of the Education Committee and member of the Membership and Registration Committee concluded the session with a vote of thanks to the council members and all participants of the programme.
