Noor Elahi, former country manager of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives at Western Union, has recently joined Wagely Bangladesh as the managing director.

Bangladesh’s first financial wellness platform wagely believes the appointment will accelerate its activities expansion and ensure financial wellness for every middle- and low-income worker in the country, read a press statement on Sunday.

The wagely is a platform that pioneered the service of Earned Wage Access (EWA) in Bangladesh, allowing workers to access a portion of their already worked-for salary.

Noor Elahi is experienced in country management, marketing and sales, and has worked across multiple industries and countries over his 16 years of career.

He has extensive experience working with local and multinational companies in industries such as telecom, FMCG, cross-border payments, and fintech.

“I am very excited to join wagely, one of Southeast and South Asia’s most exciting fintech companies, which is founded with a social purpose and a mission to reduce the poverty premium by giving disruptive financial solutions to millions of lower- and middle-income workers and reduce their financial burden,” Noor said.

“I adore the vision of the founders and board members, and I truly felt connected to the larger meaning to serve the community through this platform,” he added.
