North South University (NSU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Atiqul Islam announced that the NSU Trustee Board will be funding the education of 15 Palestinian women. These women can choose any programme at NSU for their undergraduate or graduate studies.

The announcement was made during an event titled "NSU Law Talk on: Palestine's Recognition in International Law and My Life as the Ambassador" organised by NSU at their Moot Court Room in Dhaka on Wednesday, according to a press release.

Professor Sk Tawfique M Haque, dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at NSU, gave opening remarks about how important it is to understand the laws around recognising countries and how this affects peace talks around the world.

Palestinian Ambassador Yousef SY Ramadan was the special guest and speaker at the event. He talked about the difficult legal issues surrounding recognising Palestine as a country and also shared his experiences as an ambassador.

Professor Md Rizwanul Islam, an international law expert at NSU, also spoke at the event. He explained the legal history and international agreements that are important to Palestine's recognition efforts. His talk offered a clear look at the challenges and opportunities Palestine faces as it tries to be recognised as a country.

Saquib Rahman, a senior lecturer from NSU's Law Department, moderated the discussion.

The event ended with a thank you speech from Barrister Arafat Hosen Khan, the chair of NSU's law department. He thanked Ambassador Ramadan for sharing his experiences, everyone who participated in the discussion, and the event organisers for their hard work.
