Reliance Insurance Limited has declared a 25 per cent cash dividend in its 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The meeting was held on a digital platform on Thursday. Rajiv Prasad Shaha, chairman of the Board of Directors, presided over the meeting, read a press release.

A large number of shareholders, who showed keen interest in the proceedings, participated in the meeting. The shareholders expressed their deep appreciation for the prudent and judicious steps taken by the management in running the affairs of the company. They also put forward a good number of suggestions, which were duly noted by the management.

The shareholders in the AGM declared a 25 per cent cash dividend for the year ended December 31, 2022. During the year 2022, the company achieved a gross premium income of Tk 3,523.63 million as against Tk 3,140.35 million in the previous year and earned pre-tax profit Tk 882.68 million.

Shahzreh Huq and Abdullah Al Mamun were re-elected public subscriber’s directors in the said AGM.

The AGM was followed by the 274th Board of Directors meeting where the directors discussed the future cause of action of the company and also unanimously elected Shamsur Rahman and Shahnaz Rahman as chairman and vice-chairman respectively.

Therefore, the Board of Directors of the Company is now comprised of the following members;  Shamsur Rahman (Chairman), Shahnaz Rahman (Vice-Chairman), Rajiv Prasad Shaha, Zakia Rouf Chowdhury, Samira Alam, Arshad Waliur Rahman, Imran Faiz Rahman, Iftekharul Huq, Shahzreh Huq, Srimati Shaha,  Sabra Yesmin Chowdhury, Amiran Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun FCA, Azizur Rashid FCA, Anis-uz-Zaman Khan, Md Habibur Rahman Molla FCA, Professor Mohammad Abdullah, and  Md Khaled Mamun FCII, Chief Executive Officer.
