Mohd Safwan Choudhury has been re-elected as the vice chairman of Bank Asia PLC at the Board of Directors’ meeting held last Sunday.
Choudhury is an eminent industrialist of Bangladesh and former president of the Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also the managing director of M Ahmed Tea & Lands Co Limited, Phulbari Tea Estates Limited, M Ahmed Cold Storage Limited, Premier Dyeing & Calendaring Limited and M Ahmed Food & Spices Limited, according to a press release.
Assitionally, he is the president of Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), an NGO, which provides primary education to underprivileged children. He also served as the chairman of the Bangladesh Tea Association.
