Saif Powertec Ltd, a listed logistics and container supply chain management provider, signed a Mutual of Understanding (MoU) with Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata on Monday.

This partnership aims to reduce the time and cost of cargo transportation from mainland India to Northeast India avoiding the Siliguri and Guwahati corridors, read a press release on Monday.

Saif Powertec Ltd and Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port together will explore options to promote India-Bangladesh trade through Mongla and Chittagong ports to northeast India.

On behalf of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, RS Rajhans (traffic manager), and on behalf of Saif Powertec Ltd, its Managing Director Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin signed the agreement in the presence of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port’s Chairperson Rathendra Raman.
