SEU welcomes fresh students of Summer 2024

Southeast University (SEU) welcomed its newly admitted students for the Summer Semester of 2024 with a vibrant Freshers' Reception and Orientation Programme on July 3, 4 and 5 at its Multipurpose Hall.

The programme comprised five distinct sessions for different departments, according to a press release.

The inaugural session, which featured Iftekher Alam Ishaque, Chief Operating Officer of SSL Wireless, as the guest of honour, was held at 10 am on July 3 for the newly admitted students of the CSE department.

Later that day, the second session at 2 pm welcomed students from the EEE, Architecture and Textile departments. Engineer Md Shamsuzzaman, CIP and Managing Director of Micro Fiber Group graced this session as the chief guest.

The third session commenced at 10 am on July 4, welcoming students from the Bangla, English, and Economics departments. According to the release, Selina Hossain, president of Bangla Academy, was the chief guest.

Following this, the fourth session, which occurred on the same day at 3 pm, welcomed students from Southeast Business School. Mohammad Fazlul Kader, additional managing director of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Finally, the EEE, CSE, and Textile Departments Weekend Programme organised the fifth session of the orientation programme. Sumon Ahmed Sabir, Chief Technology Officer of Fiber@home Limited and Executive Council Member of Asia Pacific Network Information Center, was the chief guest.

Throughout all sessions, SEU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam presided over the proceedings. At the same time, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Mofazzal Hossain, Registrar (Acting) Air Vice Marshal (retd) M Abul Bashar, deans and heads of SEU extended a heartfelt welcome to the newly enrolled students.

The esteemed guests imparted valuable advice, encouraging students to prioritise punctuality and maintain focus. They emphasised the importance of self-development and readiness to tackle future challenges while pursuing their studies at the beautiful permanent campus of the university at Tejgaon.
