The first-ever Digital Palli Smart Village Expo 2023 was held on Friday in Damudya upazila of Shariatpur.
In the day-long fair at the upazila complex ground — small and medium entrepreneurs participated with a total of 65 stalls, read a press release on Saturday.
35 per cent of entrepreneurs were women.
Daraz and Foodpanda were the sponsors of the fair and SSLCOMMERZ was the technology and payment partner. EkkBaz was also a partner.
After visiting the fair, chief guest Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi urged the entrepreneurs to spread the initiative in every village of the country.
Tipu Munshi also inaugurated "Chikitsa,'' a personalised healthcare app based on QR code and NFC technology at the evening.
Local Member of Parliament and e-Cab advisor Nahim Razzak, MME Foundation Managing Director Mohammad Mofizur Rahman, Prime Minister's Office SDG Affairs Coordinator Akhtar Hossain, Commerce Ministry Joint Secretary Abdur Rahim Khan, Consumer Rights Director General AHM Safikuzzaman, Foodpander co-founder and Managing Director Syeda Ambarin Reza, and Daraz Managing Director Mustahidal Haque Saeed, among others, attended the event.
