Tiny Tots & Summerfield International School on Friday celebrates 50 years of quality education since its inception in 1974 by the late Faizi Chowdhury and Margot Enander.

The day-long event took place at the Bangladesh Army Stadium, with the hosts welcoming the students and attendees. After a brief recitation of verses from the Qur’an, Bible, Bhagavad Gita, and the Tripitaka, the National Anthem sang while the National Flag was hoisted, read a press release.

The first main attraction of the event was the Thousand Voices Songs: a collection of four songs (the Jubilee Anthem, the School Anthem, “It’s a Small World” and “Dhono Dhanno Pushpe Bhora”) was sung by over a thousand students of Tiny Tots/Summerfield.

The event itself is divided into four segments, with the first segment ending with a welcome dance and drills of the students by 10:30am.

The second segment started at 11am, and began with Principal Anjum Husain’s speech, followed by the chief guest, the Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Dr ASM Maksud Kamal.

There were multiple dance performances by students of various classes, a drama about the history of Summerfield, and a Bengali recitation about International Mother Language Day. The second segment ended at 12:30pm, after which there was a two-hour break for the Jummah prayer and lunch, before the third segment began.

There was a Carnival section where students and attendees took part in various carnival rides, including a magic show, photo booths, and more.

The third segment mainly consisted of performances by students and recognition of the hard work the teachers have contributed throughout the years, with three 15-minute slots dedicated to recognising the efforts of some of the longest-running teachers in Summerfield.

The segment began at 2:30pm with two band performances of students of Class-X, followed by speeches of Shahid Samad Chowdhury and Anjum Husain. There were also several speeches given by some of Tiny Tots’ earliest alumni, and four dance performances: a folk dance, a dance based on Rumjhum, a peacock dance, and a fusion dance, with the segment ending with the fusion dance around 5:30pm.

After a brief 45-minute break for Maghrib prayer and stage preparation, the final segment began with a laser show and a documentary about the history of Summerfield International School.

The event was concluded with the final main attraction: a three-hour-long concert consisting of musical artists Habib Wahid, Pritom Hasan, and the rock band Nemesis. The Golden Jubilee Celebration ended around 10:30pm.
