Uber announced the expansion of its services to 20 cities, spread across all 8 divisions in Bangladesh.

With a wide range of two, three and four-wheeled product portfolio to suit different use cases such as Rental, CNG, Intercity, Connect, Moto etc., commuting across the cities has never been easier and simpler. This, in turn, unlocks flexible earning opportunities for more driver partners on its platform, said a press release on Tuesday.

Uber services are now available in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Bogra, Bagerhat, Barisal, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Jashore, Cumilla, Moulvibazar, Nilphamari, Sreemangal, Feni, Dinajpur, Khulna and Cox’s Bazar.

Additionally, to introduce the magic of urban ridesharing mobility at the tap of a button throughout the country, Uber launched Moto recently in Gazipur and Natore, its 19th and 20th cities respectively.

With the addition of these two cities, UberMoto is now available in all 20 cities, UberX in 5 cities, UberPremier in 1 city, UberCNG in 3 cities, Rental in 3 cities, and Intercity in 4 cities and UberXL in 2 cities.

Commenting about this milestone of expanding business across the length and breadth of the country, Armanur Rahman, Head of Bangladesh and East India, Uber, said, “We are thrilled to expand our services to 20 cities across Bangladesh, to serve both riders and drivers. At Uber, communities matter to us and we are super proud that we've been able to touch the lives of our communities in these cities in a little over five and a half years. We aim to double down on serving the mobility needs of our customers by focusing on products that best fit the market. Our journey is only just beginning and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones in the years to come.”

Recently, Uber also launched a slew of new features for driver-partners which empower them to make informed choices. To remove frustration for riders and drivers alike, Uber now shows trip destinations to drivers upfront before they decide to accept the ride. It’s also showing drivers the mode of payment (cash or online) before the trip starts.

This enables the drivers to choose a cash-only ride if that’s what they need. Through the introduction of these new features, the long-time complaints of passengers and driver partners regarding ride cancellations are gradually decreasing.
