ULAB MSJ Alumni Association on Friday held elections for new leadership with Ariful Islam Arman chosen as president and Aritra Ankan Mitra as general secretary.
The unveiling of the 11-member committee took place during the Alumni Night 2.0 event in the evening. The much-anticipated election marked the commencement of 2023-2024 tenure, drawing enthusiastic participation from former students and faculties, read a press release on Saturday.
Assistant Professor of ULAB's MSJ department Dr Mohammad Shazzad Hossain assumes the role of advisor for the association.
Joining the leadership team are Vice President Abdullah Al-Mosref, Joint Secretary Didarul Karim Sikder, Finance Secretary Proma Shanchita Atri, Organising Secretary Daud Rashid, and PR & Media Secretary Ishara Parvin. The executive members include MD Mazharul Islam Munna, ASM Saad, Alfi Shahrin, and Sadman Azad.
Assistant Professors Dr Sarkar Barbak Karmal and Senior Lecturer Syeda Sadia Mehzabin, both from ULAB's MSJ department, graced the occasion alongside students and the association's advisor.
The election results were declared by Riad Arif, an alumni and the appointed election commissioner. The declaration occurred at the Alumni Night 2.0, which saw former ULAB members relishing the opportunity to reconnect, enjoy various activities, and reminisce about their youthful days.
The event, which doubled as a reunion, was a mix of fun, games, interactive sessions, and a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The election results were announced before dinner, following an evening filled with joyous camaraderie.
The ULAB MSJ Alumni Association, initiated on February 8, 2020, has grown significantly, boasting a membership of over 300 individuals. This community provides a platform for ULAB MSJ alumni to connect, reminiscence, and stay involved in the space where their dreams began.
