Unilever Consumer Care Limited (UCL) successfully held its 51st annual general meeting (AGM) last Tuesday with the presence of shareholders who approved the directors’ report, and auditor’s report.
The meeting audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2023, where the declaration of a final cash dividend of 300 per cent on the paid-up capital of the company, i.e., Tk 30 per ordinary share of Tk 10 each, was announced.
In pursuance of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission’s directive, the AGM was conducted through a digital platform, reports UNB.
The meeting was presided over by Unilever Consumer Care Limited Chairman Masud Khan and the company’s other directors, namely Mohammad Zaved Akhtar, Zinnia Tanzina Huq, SOM Rashedul Quayum, Md Abul Hossain, Reazul Haque Chowdhury, and Company Secretary Md Naharul Islam Molla, along with the company’s statutory auditors, independent scrutiniser, and a good number of shareholders, attended the meeting using the digital platform.
Masud Khan stated, “In 2023, as a global business, our company encountered significant challenges stemming from geo-political crises, leading to a decline in gross profit.
“However, despite these adverse circumstances, we demonstrated resilience by increasing our net profit margin by 6.5 per cent in 2023 compared to 2022. Despite the limitations imposed by external factors, the company’s final cash dividend for 2023 is 300 per cent upon the approval of our shareholders in the 51st AGM.”
