3,000 Bhola farmers get incentive for Aush cultivation

A total of 3,000 small and marginal farmers in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola have been given seeds and fertilisers free of cost as agro incentive for the cultivation of high-yielding (Ufsi) Aush paddy in the current Kharif season.

To increase the interest of farmers in Aush paddy cultivation, the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) distributed incentives among the farmers.

Member of Parliament of Bhola-3 constituency Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon inaugurated the distribution function and handed over the incentives among the farmers as the chief guest on Tuesday morning with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Anamika Nazrul Sadia Islam in the chair.

The upazila administration and upazila agriculture office jointly organised the distribution function at the upazila multipurpose auditorium.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Gias Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Abu Hasnain, among others, also spoke.

Under the programme, each farmer was given five kilograms of high-yielding (Ufsi) Aush paddy seeds, 10kg of Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilisers and 10kg of Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilisers free of cost for cultivating one bigha of land.
