4,400 Narail farmers incentivised for Aush cultivation

A total of 4,400 small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila of the district have received seeds and fertilisers free of cost as agro incentive for the cultivation of high-yielding (Ufsi) Aush paddy in the ongoing Kharif-1 season.

To increase the interest of farmers in Aush paddy cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers have been increased significantly in the current financial year 2022-23 in the district, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) said.

Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Nizam Uddin Khan Nilu inaugurates the distribution function and handed over the incentive among the framers of the upazila as the chief guest this morning with Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadia Islam in the chair.

The distribution function was held in the Sadar upazila agriculture office premise this morning.

Under the programme, each farmer was given five kilograms of high-yielding (Ufsi) Aush paddy seed, 10kg of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilisers and 10kg of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizers free of cost for cultivating one bigha of land.
