AIP will further enhance status of agriculture profession: Razzaque

The Ministry of Agriculture granted 'Agricultural Important Person (AIP)' status to 13 individuals in recognition of their contributions in various fields of agriculture on Wednesday.

Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque conferred the AIP status as the chief guest on the 13 individuals at a function at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka, read a press release.

AIP Policy was first enacted in 2019. In light of this, this honour is being given for the first time this year.

The agriculture minister said that AIP is a great initiative to honour the farmers, agronomists, entrepreneurs, producers, and farmers who contribute significantly to the country’s agricultural sector.

“The introduction of AIP awards marks a new chapter in the agriculture sector. As a result, the status of the agricultural profession will increase further,” Razzaque added.
