Ashik Mia alias Khokan became ill and senseless while en route to Dhaka from Saudi Arabia by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight on February 2.
The plane had to make an emergency landing in Oman’s Muscat International Airport, and Biman ensured proper treatment of the ill passenger. Biman later arranged for Ashik to return to his family on Sunday after his health improved, read a press release on Tuesday.
Providing further details, the release stated, “When Ashik fell ill, he was first taken to the emergency clinic at the Muscat airport. From there, he was shifted to KIMS Hospital for better treatment.
“Considering the seriousness of his stroke, KIMS Hospital transferred him to the Neurology Department at the famous Government Khoula Hospital in Muscat on the same day night. He was kept in the intensive care unit (ICU) there.”
The Biman Bangladesh Airlines Oman office arranged Oman’s visa and medical treatment in three hospitals. Later, Ashik was sent to his relatives in Dhaka by a Biman flight on February 11.
Biman added it has already assured the hospital and airport authorities of covering all expenses in this regard.
