Biman takes steps to make cargo operations transparent

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has introduced a new monitoring system and launched a dedicated call centre to assist exporters with real-time information regarding their shipments as part of its endeavour to increase transparency and accountability in cargo operations.

The national flag carrier has installed monitors at its cargo export division to display booking and shipment data for goods being transported on various Biman flights, according to a Biman press release on Wednesday.

This initiative aims to streamline the flow of information, enabling exporters and agents to stay informed about the status of their shipments, ultimately accelerating business operations.

Additionally, the newly established cargo call centre can be reached by dialling 13636 (extension 6), where customers can inquire about shipment details.

The service will be available every day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

These steps underscore the Biman’s commitment to improving service efficiency for the country’s exporters, ensuring smoother operations and enhanced customer support in the cargo sector, the release said.
