US-Bangla spreads wings to Sharjah

The US-Bangla Airlines on Sunday spread its wings to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates as its 11th international destination.

The inaugural flight operated by 164-seater Boeing 737-800 aircraft departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 9:00pm, a press release said.

US-Bangla Airlines Director (customer service) AKM Junaid, Director (flight operations) Capt Nur Uddin Al Masood, General Manager (operations) Zulfiqar Ali, General Manager (customer service) Emran Ahmed, General Manager (customer service) AK Azad and other high officials were present at the inaugural event.

Initially, the carrier is going to operate flights on the Dhaka-Sharjah route six days a week.

The US-Bangla will leave Dhaka at 9:00pm every day of the week, except Saturday, and will reach Sharjah directly at 12:30pm local time.

On the other hand, it will leave Sharjah for Dhaka on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:30am local time and land in the Bangladesh capital at 8:00am.

It will also leave Sharjah for Chattogram at 1:30am on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday and land in the port city at 8:00am, read the release.

Earlier, the airlines started operating flights to Dubai from February 1 last year.

The US-Bangla fleet currently has a total of 16 aircraft, including six Boeing 737-800 and seven brand new ATR 72-600.
