Bad loans in Bangladesh hit an all-time high despite forbearance offered by the Bangladesh Bank in the face of the worrying situation caused by the Russia-Ukraine war.
At the end of June of this year, non-performing loans (NPLs) stood at Tk 1,25,257 crore, which is 8.96 per cent of the total disbursed loans, as per the Bangladesh Bank latest data.
However, in the last three months (April-June), such types of loans rose by Tk 11,816 crore while the bad loans reached Tk 1,13,440.86 crore at the end of March.
