The Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers' Association (BAFEDA) will set a uniform exchange rate for overseas exchange houses and inform the central bank within next Sunday.
The decision was made at a meeting held among Bangladesh Bank, BAFEDA and Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB) on Thursday at the headquarters of the central bank.
Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and spokesperson Md Serajul Islam said that the BAFEDA and the ABB will set a uniform exchange rate for overseas exchange houses and encashment of export bills.
He also said that the associations will hold a meeting for setting the rate and inform the central bank by Sunday.
