Bangladesh sees above 14% export growth in July

Bangladesh has witnessed 14.72 per cent to $3.98 billion export growth in the first month of FY23 despite a global economic crisis.

Earlier, the Commerce Ministry fixed a target of $3.92 billion for July 2022 as the country exported $3.47 billion in July, 2021.

The country's largest sector readymade garments earned $3.37 billion which is 16.61 per cent higher than the same period of the previous year and 6.45 per cent higher than the target.

In July FY22, the sector earned $2.89 billion while the government set a target of $3.16 billion for July, FY23.

During this time, agriculture sector earnings dropped by 34.89 per cent to $63.91 million. Besides, jute and jute goods sector earnings rose by 5.75 per cent to $63.91 million.
