Export earnings jumped by 41.13 per cent to $4.85 billion in January, due to the rise in demands of apparel goods and ease in Covid-19 pandemic situation in export destinations.
According to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data released on Wednesday, Bangladesh earned $4.85 billion, up by 41.13 per cent, compared to $3.44 billion in January of 2020.
Meanwhile, during July-January period of the current fiscal export earning rose by 30.34 per cent to $29.54 million, which was $22.67 billion in the same period of last year.
In December, export earnings rose by 48.27 per cent to $4.90 billion, which was $3.30 billion in the same period last year. During the July-December period of the current fiscal year, export earnings posted a 28.41 per cent rise to $24.70 billion.
