The Bangladesh Bank has promoted GM Abul Kalam Azad to the post of Executive Director (Ex-Cadre Publications) – the highest post in the organization.
Previously, GM Abul Kalam Azad served as assistant spokesperson and director of the central bank’s Department of Communications and Publications.
The Human Resource Department of the central bank issued an office order in this regard on Wednesday.
Abul Kalam Azad joined BB in 1992 as assistant director. He completed his honours, masters, and diploma degree from the University of Dhaka.
He has also worked for the Research Department and Monetary Policy Department of Governor's Secretariat and the Department of Communications and Publications of the central bank.
For overseas training, he travelled to the United States, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and India.
Azad, hailing from Jessore, is a volunteer executive adviser of a regional organization - Bhatai-Nurjahan Orphan Friend (VNOF).
His wife Rokeya Khatun is also working as a director of the central bank.
