The Bangladesh Bank has notified that bank operations will remain closed for three days, from Monday [August 5] to Wednesday [August 7], due to rampant violence amid non-cooperation movement – organised by students’ platform Boishommo Birodhi Chhatra Andolon.
Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson Mezbaul Haque made the disclosure to the media on Sunday, adding that the government in an executive order has declared a three-day general holiday across the country.
All banking and financial institutions will be closed during this time.

Curfew will be in force in all divisional sadars including Dhaka, city corporations, municipalities, industrial areas, district and upazila sadars, from 6pm on August 4 until further notice.
