The Bangladesh Bank raised the policy rate by 50 basis points to 8.50 per cent to curb the ongoing high inflation. The rate will be applicable on Thursday.
The central bank issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday.
Besides, the Standing Lending Facility (SLF) rate has been increased by 50 basis points to 10 percent.
