The Bangladesh Bank issued show-cause notice to managing directors (MD) of six banks for their involvement in destabilising the country’s foreign exchange market.
The six banks are- Brac Bank, Southeast Bank, The City Bank, Prime Bank, Dutch-Bangla Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson Md Serajul Islam said to The Business Post that the central bank issued the show-cause notice to the six bank’s MDs on Wednesday.
Before the move, BB on August 8 asked those six banks to transfer their treasury heads due to their involvement in destabilising the forex market.
