The Bangladesh Bank on Thursday raised the USD rate to Tk 106.
The central bank on the day sold $45 million from its reserve at the rate of Tk 106 per USD, which was at Tk 104.50 a day earlier, said a high official of BB.
From July to May 31 of this fiscal year, the BB sold near $13 billion to banks.
The foreign exchange reserves stood at $29.91 billion on May 31 due to the continuous USD selling spree of the central bank.
The forex reserves were at $42.20 billion at the same time last year.
