Allocation for public safety, security up by Tk1,077cr

In the proposed budget for FY2023-24, public safety and security services under Home Ministry have been allocated to Tk 29,858 crore, which is Tk 1,077 crore more than the amount allocated in outgoing FY2022-23.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal unveiled the details while presenting the proposed national budget of Tk 7,61,785 crore for FY24 in parliament on Thursday.

Out of Tk 29,858 crore, Tk 25,695 crore has been proposed for the Public Security Division and Tk 4,163 crore for the Security Services Division.

In FY23, a total of Tk 28,781 crore was allocated — of which, Tk 24,594 crore went to Public Security Division and Tk 4,187 to Security Services Division.
