In a bid to motivate young generation to create employments through various start-up ventures, coming out of the traditional mindset of getting employed, the government has proposed to allocate Tk 100 crore in the budget for fiscal year 2023-24.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal made the proposal while unveiling the Tk 761,785 crore proposed budget for FY24 in the parliament on Thursday.
Kamal said, “We will train 80,000 youths in advanced technology and innovation through research and innovation centres of various universities. We are creating infrastructure and providing facilities suitable for startup and entrepreneurship development.”
“A special allocation of Tk 100 crore has been kept in the next budget for research, innovation and development work to prepare the driving force — the youth and women — for building Smart Bangladesh,” he added.
