Chinese films shine at Dhaka Int’l Film Festival

The Wide-angle Segment of the 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival was inaugurated on January 22 at the Bangladesh National Museum.

Over 300 individuals attended the event, including lawmaker and Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh Yao Wen, Cultural Counsellor of the embassy Yue Liwen, and representatives from the film festival organisers, global filmmakers and Bangladeshi film enthusiasts.

Preceding the commencement of the opening ceremony, Ambassador Yao Wen took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Chinese Movie Poster Exhibition alongside other distinguished guests.

A noteworthy presence of 17 Chinese films marked the Chinese participation in this Dhaka International Film Festival edition. Furthermore, six representatives from the Chinese film industry visited Bangladesh, engaging in valuable exchanges during the festival.
