British High Commissioner in Dhaka Robert Chatterton Dickson on Sunday said commercial law reforms are crucial to easing the process of doing business, which could help to bring more foreign investments to Bangladesh.
He made the remark while addressing a seminar on "Revisiting the Arbitration Act for Promoting Foreign Direct Investment in Bangladesh," organised by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) at its office in the capital.
He added that the country should lay emphasis on legal systems as Bangladesh is graduating to a developing nation from the list of least developed countries (LDCs).
"Sound commercial law is significant to bring the foreign direct investment to the country," he said.
