Amid the global economic crisis and slow orders of exports, Bangladesh witnessed 36.18 per cent export growth in August.
The country exported $4.61 billion worth of goods in the previous month which was $3.38 billion at the same time of the last year, according to the monthly provisional export data released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Sunday.
The export earnings in August this year were 7.14 per cent higher than the target ($4.3 billion) set by the Ministry of Commerce.

The ready-made garment sector, as usual, led the earnings and earned $3.75 billion, which was 81.31 per cent of total export earnings and 36.04 per cent compared to the same time of the previous year.
In August 2021, the sector earned $2.75 billion, according to the EPB.
