The floods that affected 18 districts of the country this year caused losses worth more than Tk 86,811 crore, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Enamur Rahman said on Monday.
“The natural calamity completely damaged crops worth over Tk 1,258 crore,” he told a press briefing at the secretariat in Dhaka following a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Disaster Management Coordination Committee.
The losses of the partially damaged crops were estimated at more than Tk 55,957 crore, he said.
Besides, houses worth Tk 364.84 crore were damaged fully while partially damaged houses worth over Tk 1,355 crore, he added.
