Gold price drops by Tk 1,750 per bhori

Following a record surge in gold prices, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced a modest reduction in gold prices in the country's market.

The price cut applies to various carat categories, with the best quality (22 carat) gold witnessing a decrease of Tk 1,750, now priced at Tk 108,125 per bhori (11.664 grams).

Traders made the price adjustments on Wednesday in response to a decline in gold prices in the local bullion market. The revised prices will come into effect starting Thursday.

Under the new rates, the price of 21 carat gold has been lowered by Tk 1,633 to Tk 1,3,226 per bhori. Additionally, the price of 18 carat gold has seen a reduction of Tk 1,458, now standing at Tk 88,471 per bhori. The traditional gold filling price has also been revised downward by Tk 1,225 to Tk 73,716 per bhori.

In contrast, as of November 30, the best quality (22 carat) gold had experienced an increase of Tk 1,750, reaching Tk 1,9,875 per bhori. Similarly, the price of 21 carat gold rose by Tk 1,633 to Tk 104,859 per bhori, the price of 18 carat gold increased by Tk 1,458 to Tk 89,929 per bhori, and the price of traditional gold surged by Tk 1,225 to Tk 74,941 per bhori.
