The government has provided its employees and pensioners with 5 per cent of the basic salary as a special incentive. Under the incentive, employees will receive a minimum of Tk 1,000, while pensioners Tk 500 on July 1 every year.
The finance ministry issued a notification in this regard, which will come into effect retroactively on July 1.
Employees of government, civil, autonomous and state-owned organisations, banks, insurance and financial institutions, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the police under the National Pay Scale, in accordance with Section 15 of the Public Service Act 2018, have been given this incentive, it said.
Suspended employees will get the special incentive at a rate of 5 per cent on 50 per cent of their basic salary structure at the time of suspension, the notification read, mentioning that employees, who are on leave without pay, will not get this incentive.
