The government is going to fix the prices of seven food items along with two construction materials within the next 15 days as part of its effort to stabilise the local market.
The items are — rice, atta, flour, oil, sugar, red lentil, egg, cement and rod.
The authorities concerned also will take legal action against traders if they do not follow the prices in selling the items.
The Ministry of Commerce took the decision in a meeting with stakeholders on Tuesday.
