The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association makes certain recommendations on Monday vis-à-vis the workers’ eid arrangements including conveyance, and holiday allotments.
BGMEA has asked members to check with all production and logistic facets and units to see if it is possible to allow a holiday that should start at least a couple of days before eid to alleviate traffic and enable safe travel and commutation across transits, read a press release.
Members have also been apprised to make adjustments on weekly holidays for upholding the recommendation, if necessary.
BGMEA President Faruk Hasan has asked the members and stakeholders to verse the workers on safe travel, maintaining measures to ensure one's safety from suspicious strangers, making good on traffic rules while commuting, and so on.
The members have also been asked to check with the traffic police department for materialising the recommendations.
The stakeholders have been advised to apprise the BGMEA before making decisions in case of any labour unrest in the industry ahead of eid.
