Highlighting the ethnic history and cultural ties between Bangladesh and Thailand, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Monday said the two countries should work together to explore more bilateral business ventures.

"Bangladesh is keen to expand trade and strengthen relations with Thailand," he said while holding a meeting with Thai envoy to Bangladesh Makawadee Sumitmor at his office in the city, said a press release.

Among others, Senior Secretary of the Industries Ministry Zakia Sultana and Director General of Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) Anwarul Alam were present on the occasion.

Makawadee Sumitmor said the present business environment in Bangladesh is suitable for trade and investment.

Bangladesh as a developing country is ahead among South Asian countries in terms of industrial expansion and trade, she added.
