ICMAB delegation meets BSEC chairman

A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), led by its President Md Mamunur Rashid FCMA, met Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam at his office in Dhaka on Monday.

During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to professional interest, said a press release

Mamunur Rashid apprised the BSEC chairman of the present status and activities of the Institute and sought all out support from the government for its further and rapid development.

He also urged Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam to take appropriate steps to make cost audit mandatory in all listed companies in the wider interest of government, shareholders and society in view of the various services and effective roles played by cost and management accountants.

The BSEC Chairman highly appreciated the role of the professional accountants in the economic development of the country and assured to provide full co-operation for the development of Certified Management Accountant (CMA) profession.

ICMAB Secretary AKM Kamruzzaman FCMA, Treasurer Md Ali Haider Chowdhury FCMA, former presidents Abu Sayed Md. Shaykhul Islam FCMA and AKM Delwer Hussain FCMA and Executive Director Muhammad Abdullah were also present in the meeting, the release added.
