Local industrial owners and businessmen have demanded an uninterrupted supply of electricity and gas to factories for the protection and development of local industries.
They made this call today at a meeting of the FBCCI Standing Committee on Protection and Development of Local Industries at FBCCI in the city, reads a press release.
The businessmen drew the attention of the authorities concerned to obtain bank loans at low interest rates.
They mentioned that despite being a potential sector, the production of the industry is hampered due to the non-assurance of an uninterrupted energy supply.
As a result, they are facing various problems and production costs are rising due to lack of uninterrupted energy, they mentioned.
FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam attended the meeting virtually as the chief guest.
In his speech, he said they have to work seriously on the protection of local industries to build a developed Bangladesh.
"In this year's budget, some policies have been taken in this regard. FBCCI is also working on this," he added.
He called for more cooperation from the banks to protect the local industry.
