Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali paid an official visit to Vienna, Austria from June 23-26 to attend OPEC Fund Development Forum 2024.
On June 25, he had a meeting with the Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, said a press release, reports BSS
During the meeting, State Minister of Finance Waseqa Ayesha Khan, the Ambassador of Bangladesh in Austria Asad Alam Siam and Additional Secretary, Economic Relations Division Mirana Mahrukh were present.
The finance minister thanked the Abu Dhabi Fund for its continued support since 1974.
Describing current development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the trajectory of the government of Bangladesh, Mahmood requested ADFD to increase its assistance to meet the infrastructure and socio-economic development needs of Bangladesh.
In reply, the director general of ADFD thanked the government of Bangladesh and appreciated the recent development trajectory. He assured that assistance from Abu Dhabi Fund will be increased in future. Both sides discussed organising a Joint Economic Commission shortly.
