March exports dip 2.49% YoY

Bangladesh’s exports have returned to a downward trend in March this FY, after witnessing growth for four consecutive months. The country earned $4.64 billion this March, a 2.49 per cent dip compared year-on-year, reveals the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) provisional data.

The country had witnessed year-on-year negative export growth during September and October last year.

Bangladesh was able to retain its export growth in the first nine months of this FY. During the period, the country earned $41.72 billion, and posted an 8.07 per cent year-on-year growth. Of the figure, the apparel sector earned $35.25 billion – a 12.17 per cent year-on-year growth.
