Metro rail fare from Uttara to Kamalapur set at Tk 100
The minimum fare for riding the metro rail is Tk 20 — Shamsul Haque Ripon

The one-way ride from Uttara to Kamalapur by the metro rail is Tk 100 as the fare has been fixed at Tk 5 per kilometre per ride.

Besides, the minimum fare for riding the metro rail is Tk 20.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader came up with the announcement at the inauguration of Metro Rail Exhibition and Information Centre in Dhaka's Uttara on Tuesday.

The 20.15-km Mass Rapid Transit Line-6 (MRT-6) is being built from Uttara to Motijheel at a cost of around Tk 22,000 crore.

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has been implementing the project which has been extended up to Kamalapur later.

On July 19, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the second revision of the project with an additional cost of Tk 11,486.92 crore.

With the latest revision, the total cost will reach Tk 33,471.99 crore.

The Uttara-Agargaon segment of MRT-6 is expected to be opened for passengers in December.
