MoU inked on developing livestock sector

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock (MOFL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gentium Solutions and Livestock Services Australia to develop Bangladesh’s livestock sector globally.

The goal of this partnership is to apply Australian cutting-edge technologies in Bangladesh’s livestock industry.

The signing ceremony was held in the conference room of MOFL on Sunday. Following the signing of this agreement, its feasibility will now be verified.

The MoU was signed by MOFL Secretary Dr Nahid Rashid, Gentium Solutions Pvt Ltd Chairman Md Iqtedar Hassan Murad and Livestock Services Australia Director John Thompson with Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim present as the chief guest of the ceremony.

Rezaul Karim during his speech said Bangladeshi cattle enrichment began by bringing Australian Cows to the country at the initiative of  Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Nahid Rashid said Australia’s state-of-the-art technology can further improve the livestock sector in Bangladesh.

Apart from this, Additional Secretaries of MOFL Nripendra Chandra Debnath, Tofazzel Hossain, ATM Mustafa Kamal, and Department of Livestock Services Deputy Director Dr Malay Kumar Sur were present at the event.

Gentium Solutions’ Senior Advisor Kaykobad Hossain, Co-Chairman Ikthedar Hassan Murad, Managing Director Iftekhar Hasan Tarek, and Director Kevin Patrick Higgins were also present.
