Parvez re-elected as BCI president

Renowned businessman and Evince Group Chairman Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury Parvez has been re-elected as the president of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) for the term of 2023-2025. BCI Election Board Chairman Abdul Haque declared the result on Saturday.

Universal Medical College & Hospital Chairman Priti Chakraborty and Younus Group Managing Director Mohammed Younus have been elected as Senior Vice-President and Vice-President respectively.

While taking charge, BCI President Parvez said, “As BCI is the sole representative of the industrial sector throughout the country, so we have to be united to face all barriers, and have to play appropriate roles to solve it.

“BCI will develop a purposeful communication network through visiting all district chambers with a view to identifying existing problems and challenges faced by different industries.”

He thanked all concerned for reelecting him and other board directors, expressing hope that the new board will work for SMEs.

“The newly elected committee will take proper initiatives for the development of CMSEs as well as generating new entrepreneurs,” Parvez added.

The newly elected directors under Ordinary Class are – Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez), Mohammed Younus, Delowar Hossain Raja, Mohammad Ismail Hossain, Engr Mohd Mohabbat Ullah Md Mizanur Rahman, M A Razzak Khan, Abul Kalam Bhuiyan, SM Shah Alam Mukul, Joshoda Jibon Deb Nath, Md Shahid Alam, KM Rifatuzzaman, Ruslan Nasir, Md Khayer Mia, Sohana Rouf Chowdhury, Md Mafuzur Rahman.

The newly elected directors under Associate Class are – Priti Chakraborty, Shahidul Islam Niru, Ranjan Chowdhury, Zia Hayder Mithu, Shah Alam Litu, Nazmul Anwar, Mohd Ishaqul Hossain Sweet, Md Salim Jahan.
