The employers have to pay Eid bonus and 15 days of salary for the month of June, to the workers before the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, said State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian.

She made the announcement at the 75th meeting of the National Tripartite Consultative Council (TCC) and the 15th meeting of the RMG TCC at the Department of Labour on Tuesday afternoon.

“Since Eid is at the end of this month, the owners will also pay the salary of 15 days of June along with Eid bonus,” the state minister said.

In response to the demand of the workers' leaders for the full salary of June, she said 15 days' salary is mandatory. However, if an owner has the ability, they can pay the full month's salary.

As garments are an export-oriented industry and to ensure smooth movement of people on Eid, the owners will decide on the holiday after talks with the workers keeping both issues in mind, added the state minister.
