Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi on Tuesday said the country’s jute sector saw a revival with the commencement of export of products produced by BJMC's leased-based mills.
“The mills, now run under the private management, have created new employment opportunities,” he said while inspecting the production activities of KFD Jute Mills in Chattogram.

In July 2020, the government shut down production of 25 state-owned jute mills under BJMC, citing heavy loss and high maintenance costs as reasons.
