Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury on Tuesday urged all businesses and stakeholders in the real estate sector to properly abide by the new laws to be formulated by the government.

“We have taken initiatives to amend a lot of laws formulated in the British period. You (realtors) should follow all the new laws properly,” he told a meeting with Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) leaders at the Secretariat in the capital.

Talking about updating the power of attorney rules, he asked REHAB leaders to submit written recommendations to the ministry as soon as possible.

“We discussed various issues, including positive and negative ones, with the minister for the sake of our industry. He told us to submit recommendations, and we will do that soon,” REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin told The Business Post.

He thanked the minister for digitalising the land record system.

Land Secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman and REHAB vice-presidents Kamal Mahmud and Engineer Mohammad Sohel Rana were also present there.
