Bangladesh’s remittance income reached $1.96 billion in January, which was 14.92 per cent higher compared to the same month last year, according to latest data from the Bangladesh Bank.
In the first seven months (July-January) of FY23, remittance income increased by 4.25 per cent, when compared year-on-year. Remittance income reached $12.45 billion in that July-January period, which was $11.94 billion in FY22.
According to experts, remittance income growth is a good sign at a time when the country is suffering from a USD crisis.
