Textile engineers-entrepreneurs for solving top 5 RMG challenges

Textile Engineer-Entrepreneurs gathered at a hotel in Dhaka on Sunday to foster collaboration and address industry-wide challenges, focused on "Present Business Challenges & Possible Solutions."

Solutions to top five challenges have been depicted well for fellow forum members as if they can face those well in their business endeavours, read a press release.

Among the organisers, Essential Clothing Ltd Managing Director Saiful Islam presented 5 major critical challenges the industry currently facing.

These included the skills gap & trust issues among employees & employers; rising operational costs but declining selling prices; unreliable utilities & high energy costs;  challenges and difficulties from Govt agencies like - Customs, VAT, Income tax, DOE, DIFE, BERC, Gonopurto, Fire Defence, etc; and  challenges and difficulties from non-Govt agencies like- RSC, trade unions, banks, insurances, consultants & vendors. Through facilitated breakout sessions, attendees brainstormed potential solutions and shared valuable insights.

Ex- MP; ex-president, ITET; SIM Group Managing Director Md Mozaffar Hossain was the chief guest and the event was presided over by Md Shafiqur Rahman, Managing Director of Hams Group and President of ITET. Engr. Mohammad Salim Reza, Sr Vice President of ITET, gave the introductory speech.

The brainstorming session has been moderated by Tareq Amin, Founder & CEO, of Textile Today Innovation Hub.

BUTEX Vice Chancellor Shah Alimuzzaman, Micro Fibre Group CIP, Managing Director Md Shamsuzzaman, Aukotex Group Managing Director Abdus Sobhan, Masco Group Executive Director Mahbub Milton, BUFT Pro-VC Ayub Nabi Khan, Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, textile consultant & adviser, ex-executive director, Esquire Group, Fiat Fashion Ltd Managing Director Md Moniruzzaman Badsha, Renaissance Group Director Mohammad Modasser Pasha, Amazing Fashions Ltd Managing Director Ziaul Hoque, Marma Composite Ltd CIP, MD Mustafa- E - Zaman Salim and other industry leaders shared their insights on the discussed 5 challenge issues.

Textile Engineers-Entrepreneurs play a significant role in Bangladesh’s RMG & textile industry. More than 40 textile engineers are the Owner or Managing Director in their companies.

Apart from that, another 50+ textile engineers are working in various industries as CEOs, Executive Directors, or other entrepreneurial positions. Together, they are accountable for more than 3.0 billion USD in annual export.
